How to Vote

Closing date for Votes

Remember! Votes MUST reach Scottish Book Trust by 5.30pm on Friday 27th January 2012 to be included in the final count. Please ensure pupils voting for the awards have read all 3 books in their age group category. Each young judge has one vote for their favourite book!

Voting Process:

1. Register to take part in the awards

This can be done via the Award Registration page on the Scottish Book Trust website.

The registration process should be done as soon as possible and is an 8 step procedure where you need to provide the following information (some information needs to be entered twice!):

  1. Your (or organisations) postcode;
  2. Your (or organisations) address and email details. Please note: To take part as an individual, fill in 'individual' in the field asking you for the organisation name;
  3. Your personal details such as name, job title. Please note: If you are taking part as an individual, under 'job title' insert 'Young Judge' and your age;
  4. Which categories would you like to register in (0-7, 8-11, 12-16, Gaelic, Scots);
  5. Number of children involved in each category and if you plan to judge using a shared reading scheme;

On completion of the registration process you are presented with a 'thank you' screen but no information about what happens next. However, don't panic as:

  1. you will shortly receive an email with your details and a link to a Reading Group Pack;
  2. This is the important bit: A couple of days later a further email will arrive providing you with a unique voting URL link. If you do not receive it then contact mailto:chris.newton@scottishbooktrust.com?Subject=Have not yet received voting link..

2. Use your unique voting link

Your unique voting URL link, which if you have already registered to take part in the awards will have been emailed to you (see above). Without it you will NOT be able to vote.

  1. Enter this link into your web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari) and this will take you to your unique page on the Scottish Book Trust website;
  2. Enter your pupil(s) total number of votes for each book and the age category/ies you have judged.
